This autumn, travelling in and out of Hong Kong with a Visa card just got more rewarding. Whether it's the daily MTR commute, the Airport Express dash to catch a flight, or a weekend micro-escape across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), Visa, a global leader in digital payments, today announced a new wave of transit offers for journeys within Hong Kong and across the border.
For the traveller flying out of Hong Kong: up to 50% cash rebate on Airport Express & MTR heavy rail network
A travel day in Hong Kong often begins well before the boarding gate: one last errand in town, seamless connection through the MTR network, and the Airport Express gliding towards check-in. On such days, eligible Visa cardholders who spend HKD60 or more cumulatively on MTR Heavy Rail and Airport Express journeys within the same day1 can enjoy up to 50% cash rebate. Launched in partnership with MTR Corporation, the promotion runs from 2 September to 9 October 2026.

For the weekend cross-border explorer: up to 10% cash rebate on Shenzhen Metro & Mainland public transport
The weekend micro-escape is a GBA habit: MTR to the border, tap on to the Shenzhen Metro, city-hopping for a day. Eligible Visa cardholders can receive up to 10% cash rebate on eligible public transportation transactions2 in Mainland China — including Shenzhen Metro journeys supported by Visa's Tap to Ride — until 31 December 2026.

For cardholders in Mainland China visiting Hong Kong: up to HKD60 cash rebate
A trip to Hong Kong often begins with small first expenses: a tap on the MTR, a coffee, a first meal in the neighbourhood. Cardholders using Visa cards issued in Mainland China can receive up to HKD603 cash rebate on eligible Visa payments made in Hong Kong, enabled by Visa's Apple Pay support — valid until 30 September 2026.
